Q1. What were you doing before Hutchinson?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of companies—from multinational corporations to local SMEs—across industries as varied as whisky production and tyre manufacturing.

My journey in manufacturing has involved leading teams of all sizes and tackling areas such as operations, logistics, quality, lean practices, and business improvement. Each experience has been a learning opportunity, and I’m grateful for the lessons and best practices I’ve gained along the way.

Today, I’m proud to apply this knowledge in my role at Hutchinson, where I drive forward innovation and excellence in manufacturing.

Q2. Why did you choose to join Hutchinson?

I’ve always been familiar with Hutchinson, having gone to school with Richard Hutchinson. When a friend mentioned an upcoming role at the company, I was immediately interested. I knew Hutchinson had a strong reputation as a great place to work, and the role felt like the perfect opportunity for me.

Q3. What does a typical day in your role look like?

In my current role, I oversee a diverse range of areas, including engineering, SHEQ, business improvement, and capital projects. No two days are the same, but a typical day involves connecting with key team members across these functions and progressing key actions for specific projects. The main focus is ensuring that both my team and I are supporting the business in delivering the best possible outcomes for our customers.

Q4. What are the best things about working at Hutchinson?

What stands out for me is the agility of the business. We adapt quickly to customer needs and market demands, ensuring we’re always moving forward. It’s definitely not a place where you can get bored—there’s always a new project or area for improvement to tackle.

I also enjoy the opportunity to collaborate across all areas of the business, which helps build strong relationships with colleagues. Plus, the company organises plenty of team-building activities and events that really foster a sense of community and strengthen teamwork.
