Energy Saving

The environmental policy sets out the company's objective to maintain operational standards to protect the environment. The company aims to:

• Reduce the amount of waste produced
• Make efficient use of renewable resources
• Reuse packaging material
• Recycle raw materials where possible

The company installed a 50kW wind turbine in 2003 due to increasing electricity costs. The turbine was a large capital investment with a payback period of 10 years. The machine has the capability to produce 20% of the businesses electric with an annual saving of 12% (£4k).
